Is Unmarkr free?
Yes. The in-browser tool removes visible watermarks and provenance metadata for free. HD downloads and the API run on credits — buy them as you go, or get a monthly allowance with the Lite or Pro plan.
Which watermarks can it remove?
Visible logos and badges — like the Gemini sparkle or a “Made with AI” stamp — plus provenance metadata such as C2PA, EXIF and IPTC tags. Invisible watermarks like Google’s SynthID need a heavier process and are coming as a premium option.
Does it work on ChatGPT and Gemini images?
Yes. It’s been tested on real ChatGPT images, which carry C2PA metadata, and on Gemini images with the corner sparkle plus hidden tags — and it removes both.
