Terms of Service

1. The service

Unmarkr removes visible AI watermarks and provenance metadata from images. We offer a free in-browser tool with limits, and paid access via credits — through subscriptions (Lite, Pro) and pay-as-you-go credit purchases — including a programmatic API. One credit corresponds to one full-resolution (HD) image, used either on the web or via the API.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 and able to form a binding contract. You're responsible for your account credentials and API keys and for all activity under them. Keep your API keys secret.

3. International use

Unmarkr is offered worldwide. You are responsible for complying with the laws of your own country or region — including any AI-disclosure, content, consumer, export-control and sanctions rules — and you must not use the service where doing so would be unlawful. You agree you are not located in, and will not use the service on behalf of anyone in, a country or by a person subject to applicable export restrictions or sanctions.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use Unmarkr only on content you own or are authorised to modify, and lawfully. You must not:

• process images you don't have the rights to, or infringe anyone's intellectual-property or other rights;
• use the service to deceive, defraud, or to misrepresent AI-generated content where disclosure is legally required (e.g. under the EU AI Act or applicable laws) — you are responsible for complying with AI-transparency obligations;
• create unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, or remove watermarks to facilitate any of the above;
• abuse, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or circumvent limits or security of the service;
• resell or redistribute the service except as expressly permitted.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Plans, credits & billing

• Credits: paid features consume credits. Subscription credits are granted each month and reset (they don't roll over). Purchased pay-as-you-go credits do not expire.
• Subscriptions (Lite, Pro) renew automatically each billing period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in your local currency where supported and may exclude taxes (e.g. VAT), which are added where applicable.
• Price changes: we may change prices; changes apply to future billing periods and we'll give reasonable notice.
• Failed payments: if a renewal fails, access to paid features may be paused until payment succeeds.

6. Refunds & right of withdrawal

For consumers in the EU, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. Because the service provides immediate digital access, by purchasing and starting to use credits you request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed (i.e. once credits are used). Unused credits / unstarted subscriptions may be refundable on request. Except where required by law, purchases are otherwise non-refundable. Contact support@unmarkr.io for billing questions.

7. API

The API is subject to these Terms, rate limits, and credit consumption (one credit per processed image). We may change, throttle, or deprecate API features; we'll aim to give reasonable notice of breaking changes.

8. Intellectual property

We own the Unmarkrsoftware, brand and site. You keep all rights to your images; you grant us only the limited, temporary licence needed to process them and deliver the result. We claim no ownership of your content and don't use it to train models.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that every watermark can be removed, that results are perfect, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You are solely responsible for how you use the outputs.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unmarkr and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or €50. Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (including your statutory consumer rights).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service and close your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability) will survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; we'll update the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
