How to Remove the Gemini Watermark from Images

Images made with Google’s Gemini and Imagen models ship with a small sparkle icon in the bottom-right corner, and — less obviously — a set of hidden tags inside the file that label the picture as AI-generated. If you want to post your work without a tool’s badge stamped across it, you’ll want to remove both.

What the Gemini watermark actually is

There are really two things to deal with on a Gemini image:

• The visible sparkle. A four-point star logo overlaid in the corner. It’s painted on top of the image, so it can be removed cleanly without touching the rest of the picture.
• Hidden provenance tags. Metadata such as “Made with Google AI” and C2PA Content Credentials embedded in the file, plus — on some outputs — an invisible SynthID watermark baked into the pixels themselves.

How to remove it

1. Open the free Unmarkr tool and drop in your Gemini image (PNG, JPG or WebP).

3. Download your clean image, with a short note of exactly what was taken off.
